Monsoon Lightning in the Desert
A brilliant, jagged bolt of lightning strikes the cactus-filled Sonoran Desert near Ajo, Arizona, on the afternoon of August 14, 2014. The outlines of distant mountains are softened by torrential rain from the monsoonal storm.
