Monument in Bloom
This is Stumpy, the famous cherry tree at the Tidal Basin known for surviving decades of flooding and erosion. Shown here at his final peak bloom before removal for the seawall reconstruction, he leaned toward the Washington Monument as visitors crowded the basin for one of D.C.’s most recognizable spring traditions.
