I'm always looking for interesting alignments with the moon and landscape, and when I realized the moon within this arch could appear like an eye, I determined when a good alignment would occur and then I planned an entire vacation around that. Due to wildfires, there had been a good amount of haze and I was worried the shot wouldn’t pan out because of poor visibility, but that day the skies cleared and things worked out as planned.
