14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Moonlight Lapland
The photo was taken in the Urho Kekkonen National Forest in Lapland at a temperature of -32°C. The natural light is given by a full-moon night (afternoon). It was almost impossible to see that far but a 30 seconds aperture revealed a pathway leading into the deep of the national forest.
