16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Moonset
I photographed the moon setting behind the mountains of the Cape Peninsula from across the adjacent False Bay. It was one day after new noon so only a tiny sliver of the moon was illuminated but the entire moon was actually visible.
