I'd driven to the Big Sur coast with throngs of other tourists to watch the gray whale migration, but it was too foggy to see them, so I took the opportunity to hike up the Baronda Trail. I was met with views of the footy coast and spectacular morning light on hills covered in wildflowers and new spring grass.
