The tree creates a strong element in the foreground and its form curls you around the entire image, taking you to the sun as a focal point. In composition, the sun is placed expertly off center and upper (basic rule of thirds) and then it's reflection and lines draws one straight down into the lake. This causes the observer to explore the image again...and again. The orange juxtaposed against the blue have a smooth transition; the strong tree lines are contrasted with the serene, soft focus of the lake. One seeks to know, "What else can I find in this surreal scene? Am I the only one to see this amazing, first blush of light of a new day?" It has a message. The depth, the transitions, the color, the light speak to one deeply, peacefully.
