Morning Song

Early one morning, I was photographing the prairies of southwestern Minnesota when I heard the song of a Dickcissel. I looked in the direction of the sound and saw that the bird was not far from where I stood. Behind it were layers of gray clouds, so I wasn't hopeful that I would get a meaningful shot. I hiked over to it anyway, and set up my camera just in case. All of a sudden the clouds opened up and the sun poured through just as the Dickcissel began his song once again. I took this image just before the sun went back behind the clouds.
