Three swans at Horicon Marsh in Horicon, Wisconsin curl their necks. I had never been to Horicon Marsh Wildlife Area which is renowned as one of the largest migratory waterfowl areas in Wisconsin. As I was looking to try my hand at capturing photos of waterfowl I made the trip. My hope was to capture some birds in flight so I started out on one of the trails with my telephoto lens and camera, which was set to continuous mode. While I was not able to capture a good photo of birds in flight, I was lucky enough to come upon these 3 swans relaxing in the sun. I set up my camera on my tripod and took several photos before they struck the pose I am submitting. The 3 swans themselves are somewhat symmetrical as they curl their necks the same way at the same time. In addition, their color contrast against the bright blue water draws the viewers attention and helps make this an interesting photo.
