Morning sun on a Hawaiian rock climb

The south eastern tip of the Hawaiian island of Oahu is where the Koʻolau Range meets the Pacific Ocean. Here in the early hours of sunrise the waters churn violently along the rock edges and give a spectacular range of colors as the waves reflect the morning light; creating an astounding display of an ever evolving painting. This liquid art, a dance of both the beauty and strength of nature, enhanced by the swirling layers of the corroded lava stone, give depth, dimension and meaning to the constant chaos of the waves.
