Mother and juvenile Humpback whales rise to the surface for a breath.
We were snorkeling off the coast of Moorea, French Polynesia, to photograph Humpback whales. On a few occasions we were fortunate to find a mother and calf. The mother would rest deep in the water, while the juvenile would cavort and swim around exploring. This photo was taken as the two were rising to the surface together to take a breath.
