This image was obtained during a road trip in Mexico. One family was putting an offering of flowers on the “road cross” of their deceased son the previous year. I stopped my car and with the camera in my pants pocket I approached them, who saw me surprised and a little scared. I explained to them that I was a photographer and I was interested in taking some photographs to which they agreed. Of all the material that I made this image is the most powerful, painful and emotional.
