Motherly love
This white rhinoceros mother and her calf were up at dawn. They were probably going to have an early start for the day so that they can rest later during the hottest part of the day. Like every protective mothers, this one was shielding her calf from the hot sun and keeping a wary eye on me. A rhino calf does not have fully grown horns at birth but instead the horns grow very slowly as they age.
