Mount Etna Volcano

Mount Etna is an active volcano located in Sicily (Italy). It is the highest active volcano in Europe (3329 meters) and is part of the Unesco World Heritage. Due to its continuous activity it is one of the most studied and monitored volcanoes in the world. Although the highest craters continuously emit steam, the most recent eruptions have occurred from the formation of new craters at lower heights, such as the one that can be seen in the foreground of this image.
