12th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Mount Robson Moonlight

had been meaning to drive up to Mount Robson for a long time, but unfortunately the clouds rolled in as I drove into BC, but decided to took photos anyways. Mount Robson is the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies at 3954m (12 972ft), and is also the point of greatest topographical relief of any mountain in the Canadian or American Rockies, rising 3128m (10 263ft) from the base at 826m (2710ft). (Ben Gadd, Handbook of the Canadian Rockies, 2nd Ed., 2009).
