I took this photo while trekking in the mountains of Uganda. This is a silverback mountain gorilla. Conservation efforts have helped the mountain gorilla population grow in recent years, but we cannot let up on these efforts. These animals are awe inspiring and after spending an hour with this guy here, I feel strongly about ensuring their continued protection.
