Mountain lion in rocky wash

I have been working with mountain lion biologists to not only document their work but to capture images of lions in the wild. In order to find likely lion habitat i had to walk miles and miles looking for lion sign-scat, scrapes, kills, etc. This particular area has lots of sign and a limited amount of travel corridors. This bouldered wash was the only way for lions to gain access to a small stream and potential prey. This is a rather large male mountain surveying its domain from a huge boulder. if you look closely you can see that its left eye is a blue color indicating that he is blind on that side. He seemed fat and sassy and i have several photographs of him over a two year period indicating that he was doing just fine without having vision on the left side!
