Mountain Lion Tearing Flesh
This is a DSR camera-trap photo of a young male mountain lion scavenging what is left of a white-tailed deer doe. You can actually see some fur flying as he tries to eat the remaining meat. The deer was originally killed by a resident female mountain lion and was eaten by her and her kitten. A few weeks after the female and kitten left the kill site this mountain lion showed up. This was taken just as the new year started in 2021 in Missoula, Montana. A great way to bring in the year!
