Movie Road, Alabama Hills, 2022
In Lone Pine, California driving up towards Mount Whitney you have to drive through a portion of the Alabama Hills. This area is famous for all the old movie westerns photographed here but location was also used for a shot sequence in Gladiator (with Russel Crowe) and is used today for numerous car commercials. This dirt road gets a fair amount of vehicle action because there are numerous arches to find along the way but this section itself is photographed because of Lone Pine Peak (right of center) and Mount Whitney (far right) the highest peak in the lower 48. Unfortunately the sky was washed out and not very interesting when I took this image.
