It was one of the last days of our 100 mile journey across the Altai Mountains in Western Mongolia. We were joining a Kazakh family as they migrated from their Winter to their Summer residence. We were moving with hundreds of animals across the very cold winter tundra. Here, one of the herdsmen moves the herd forward with his herding stick. Miles past the snow covered mountains in the distance was our destination.
