At about 5,850 feet stands Cloud Cap on Mt. Hood. It was formerly an inn but is no longer in use. Facing it is Mt. Hood, which is part of the Cascade Volcanic Arc. It rises to 11,249 feet and is located about 60 miles east of Portland, OR. You get a good close up view of the mountain, with its snow and rocky exterior.
