Sri Lankan elephant (Elephas maximus maximus) is one of three recognized subspecies of the Asian elephant, and native to Sri Lanka. Mud-Bathing, wallowing and dusting are a natural, and sometimes critical, behaviour designed to protect their skin from insect bites and sunburn.
