Muestra de devoción
El Señor del Árbol is the sculpture of the Christ incarnated (embodied) in a quishuar tree (buddleja incana) that people venerates in a few parts of Ecuador. Here we can see the sacred image of El Señor del Árbol de Pomasqui. Every year the group of "priostes" of "El Señor del Árbol de Pomasqui" goes to the house of every single prioste who have decided to take El Señor del Árbol to his/her home. This event is called "peregrinación" (pilgrimage). In this year, the first "prioste" who wanted this sculpture to be in his house was a priest based in Atahualpa parish.
