Mukawa Rice Center Facility

Mukawarice has Avery long history, having been presented to the shogun during the Edo period. Three conditions are necessary to produce delicious rice: water, climate and soil. The water is clean water that flows from Mt. Kamikoma and three Ho-o mountains. The soil is granite and sandy, which is said to be ideal for growing rice. The climate is also suitable as Mukawa is at an altitude of about 500~700m(1500~2100ft.). Image shows the Mukawa Rice Center facility, where Mukawa rice seedlings are cultivated and managed. I pass by this facility on my way to the grocery store, so I am able to photograph beautiful seasonal scenes.
