We left to embark on our road trip after I finished working. He did not want to wait until the morning- he was too excited. He drove the whole way. We made it to the Grand Canyon around 4:30 AM, specifically at a vacant spot at the North Rim. It was cold and we passed out in the back of his truck. A few hours later we woke up an incredible sunrise, still vacant. We were right at the ledge, you can look down into the canyon. We bundled up and went on a short hike, where I had the chance to capture his portrait. I love how he is bundled in black and the contact against the canyon.
