The island is located west of Booth Island, at the southern end of the Lemaire Channel. It is about 1.2 kilometers long. From the pebble beach on the eastern coast, smooth, terrace-like rocks gently rise toward a major crevassed ice cap that covers the western two-thirds of the island. Many penguins inhabit the island
