My Little Mohican Woodpecker
My little "Mohican" Common Flameback Woodpecker sprung a surprise on me with his continuous raucous and repetitive call last year, clinging onto the palm tree outside our apartment! The woodpeckers’ habitat are mainly in the secondary forest and in low-density urban areas. Both sexes have black eyestripes that are joined to the neck stripes, with male spotting a red crown and female black crown.
