Mum in bed post Stereotactic radio surgery
This image is taken from an intimate photographic document that explores our family’s response to my Mother’s terminal diagnosis of secondary brain cancer through until her death on the 17th August 2018. My family is a microcosm for this dynamic, occurring all too often within families who also experiencing much of the same struggle. Having conversations about death occur far too infrequently, discussing end of life is such an important conversation to have and we need to change the culture of talking about dying as dying is a very complex and layered subject. In 2016 the cancer spread to mum's brain and she had to undergo Stereotactic radio surgery. Here she is pictured in bed at home after having her second round of treatment.
