13th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
My Mum

My family and I have almost a year in US since we moved from Peru. The true is that for us haven't been easy thing specially for my parents, both don't speak english. That is the reason that they are not able to work a less consuming job. The woman of the picture above is my mother. She works in a high school as a custodian, she gets home almost midnight, therefore she is almost always tired. One night I decided to take a picture of her as a tribute for her hard work not only as a custodian but as a mother, too. All I am today is because of my parents, specially her. I am sure she will learn the language, we are on that. I really thank God for all He has done in us.
