My way or the highway
Life of an Indian truck driver-from the dangers he faces to the kitschy art on his vehicle. Meet Ram Singh, a truck driver I met during my recent road trip to Agra. We had stopped at a road side eatery called Dhaba. He is on the road every day, taking time off only when he is too ill to drive. He has no fixed salary; instead he is paid per trip averaging a paltry USD 150 per month. Meals are usually eaten hurriedly in Dhabas. To stay alert, he chews tobacco or even cannabis. A hard life indeed !
