Mystical Backwaters of Barishal

This is the backwaters of Barisal, a labyrinth of rivers and canals, home to the Iriwaddy Dolphins. In this rural area, rivers and canals crisscross, creating lush green landscapes. Villagers made use of these waters to commute from one place to the other by water-bus, to fish and also as the route to transport fruits and vegetables to a common meeting place before selling them off to a middleman.
