Myxomycetes, Slime Mold, Exposed during Zodiac Ride Puerto Hoppner, Staten Island Argentina
After arrival at Puerto Hoopner, Staten Island, Argentina via ship we embarked on a Zodiac ride at the nature preserve. We saw many form of wildlife and at one point came to a point where there was a small waterfall. The Zodiac was rocking up and down with the waves by 3-4 feet and we turned to the left and there was a rock wall with mussels attached. As the splashing water receded and rose the myxomycetes, or slime mold, was revealed with the sea water dropping off the mold. Very colorful and unexpected!
