Naked Passion Fruit
The photograph captures the process of removing the central seed mass of a passion fruit intact. The process requires temperatures of below minus 30 degrees Celsius, most easily and simply achieved with dry ice. At this low temperature the husk of the passion fruit is so brittle and the center so hard that the husk will crack and sheer off easily with an impacting force. The image captures the entire process with the cold temperature indicated through the water vapor fog coming off of the dry ice with the intricately interwoven seed mass as the feature with the fragmented passion fruit husk.
