18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Travel
Natsukashii
A small alley filled with more than 60 small bars and restaurants. The Alley was partly destroyed in a fire in the 1990’s. Wanting to preserve the Showa-era appearance the local government rebuilt it to its original aesthetic.
