20th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Nature in captivity
This Sunda Pangolin was born in the Carnivore and Pangolin Rescue Center of Save Vietnam's Wildlife, as a child of a severly injured Pangolin, which lost a limb to a snare trap. Despite these challenges, it is possible to observe the rehabilitation of natural behaviour within the metal bars of the Rescue Center. Capturing this image gives a lot of hope for future releases of animals born and raised in captivity.
