New Zealand native plants in nursery
Trays of native New Zealand flaxes, manukas, kanukas and ferns are watered by a member of staff at a commercial nursery in Nelson, New Zealand. Many of these plants are endemic and grow naturally in no other countries. Although pine-dominated forestry is widespread in New Zealand there's a strong community connection to these local plants and Maori traditions include uses for health, weaving and carving.
