Newborn with mom in Sabi Sand
While on a morning safari in in Sabi Sand, South Africa we came upon came upon a group of giraffe. There were two young giraffes in the group; this one still had its umbilical cord hanging. It was difficult to get a good angle for the shot because the several adults surrounded it protectively, and because it remained close to one of the adults - presumably it's mother. The baby's expression and neck tilt reminded us of the comfort we all feel for mom.
