Newly commissioned Marine Corps officer at Iwo Jima
This is my son, David, on his graduation day from Marine Corps officer candidate school. His Oath of Office, pinning ceremony, and first salute were held at the Marine Corps War Memorial. His platoon, Alpha 2, was the first platoon in OCS history to merit all eight achievement awards.
