No Aloha for basking turtle

Land basking helps turtles absorb heat from the sun through their body. Turtles that bask on the beach are also gaining heat from the sand they are in contact with through a process known as conduction. Additionally, hanging out in the sun helps these turtles produce vitamin D, an essential nutrient for healthy living.
