20th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
No Goldilocks but Three Bears
The springer cubs with Mom nearby were clamming on the tide flats of remote Alaska. After a few hours they were a bit curious of the "bipeds" but still kept their distance. It was pure joy just watching them for the better part of the day.
