No natural enemies: The invasive and exotic

Crayfish have been an exotic and invasive species in The Netherlands over the past years, destroying various ecosystems and are at the base for the extinction of various plant sorts and other species. Occasionally, you see them walking around on the street, but more so often you can find their claws somewhere around water. Finding crayfish claws in nature has a strange and unreal effect. They become, without their bodies, alien objects that make you wonder of their origin and why they are there. Fascinated by the mystery of the claws, Timaeus developed a series of images depicting a speculative scenario in which the claws take on a central role in the ecosystem.
