20th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Travel
Nocturne of the Himalayas
We traveled to a remote village near the foot of Namcha Barwa, the highest peak on the east side of the Himalayas. At night fall, we stood on the balcony of a local residence. The snow-capped peak stood silently in the background.
