I live in an area that borders New York and New Jersey. With current societal disagreements, there has been a major uptick of the land around me being cleared and houses being built, including 8 new homes being built within a mile of my home since this past Summer. This new development behavior has destroyed the homes of the local wildlife; and after 12 years of living here and even living on the edge of a private woodland property, I’ve barely witnessed raccoons until this past Summer. Now, it seems that all of the raccoons living in this area have resorted to moving to my backyard, including this little girl that I regularly see and hear whenever I’m outside.
