Hospitals can be stressful for children, especially during a medical procedure. Sometimes kids need a little respite, decreasing fear without medication. Non-pharmacologic therapy, which includes music, aromatherapy, and fiber optics, is especially relaxing for kids with sensory processing disorders such as autism.
