I was blessed to live on the North Shore of Lake Superior for a year. Rising to watch the sun emerge from the lake almost every day was an extraordinary experience. The play of light and water over that great, clear, fresh, frigid water is unique and always beautiful. With the waking town of Duluth behind me, the eagles circling and foxes shuffling about, and at this time of year the ice flowing in small sheets, these sunrises were holy experiences.
