Not alone in prayer
Even at a distance I could hear this woman reciting words of worship in a soft tone. She came to Collegiate Church in Stuttgart for the same reason people have come here since a church first existed on this site around 1175: to worship. I huddled off to the side, next to statutes of all of the Counts of Wurttemberg, whose tombs were transferred here in the 14th century. The colors of the stained-glass windows fell perfectly on another "worshiper": the Praying Knight, Hermann of Sachsenheim. The strength of the faithful has remained at this location from about 1175 through today. Amazing.
