I took this photos during a break while competing in the National Poetry Slam in Oakland in 2015. I was walking along the bay taking photos (I live in the desert of Southern Utah and love to get shots of other landscapes when I travel). I noticed how colorful the reflection of the boats in the water were, far brighter and more colorful than the actual boats were. While bright, the colors still felt soft, and I thought the gentle current added a soft sense of motion to the image. I then went back and proceeded to get my butt kicked in my next bout :)
