Oklahoma made salt
In 1935 Ezra Blackmon opened a salt factory and began mechanized production (8 miles west of Freedom, Oklahoma). Fifty years later Cargill, Incorporated - an American privately held global corporation purchased the salt plant and expanded the evaporative ponds. The salt is sold for livestock and industrial use.
