On the edge
As I peered over the Hohenneuffen Castle, a place built between 1100 and 1120, I saw two young boys involved in an intense game of tag. The name Neuffen is derived from the proto-Celtic adjective nobos, meaning holy or sacred, implying that the mountain (where the castle sits) had a religious rather than a military function 2000 years ago. All of this was lost on these two youth, which is fine. Sometimes you just need to be a kid.
