This image was captured during a nature excursion looking at the marine life in the rock pools adjacent to Sugar Beach in Costa Rica. As the boy moves along the edge of a rock-pool, observing the different life forms, his hair mimics the movement of the ocean as it laps against the rocks on the shore and in the water, as well as the overall form of the hill framing him. I saw this as an apt expression of becoming one with one's surroundings, especially for youngsters who can so easily completely immerse themselves in the experience at hand.
